Common problems when learning to fly the Air-YO™
Problem 1: Instead of flying flat, the Air-YO™ turns down and
heads for the ground.
Solutions: Check that the following points are correct.
1a. Your Air-YO™ has the outer draw string edge facing upward.
1b. The control line extends down below the center point of your
Air-YO™.
Problem 2: The Air-YO™ flips upward and faces you like an 'O'.
As you continue to pull, the Air-YO™ begins to spiral and usually
hits the ground. Wind will almost always lead to this.
Solutions:
2a. First, try to predict when this will happen. As it happens,
try to (A) briefly gain altitude, then, with your feet, jump towards
the Air-YO™. Slack the line quickly by also (B) pointing your
control rod at the Air-YO™. If your timing is right, (C) the
Air-YO™ will flatten out again by sliding out and away from
you. This is the reverse of most people's reflex (pulling harder).
2b. Begin to understand this better: First, direct the Air-YO™ on
a high flight path up over your head. Then, change your motion of
the control rod. Instead of the back and forth motion that you first
learned, pull straight down repeatedly on your Air-YO™. Did
the Air-YO™ do what you thought it would? Did it look familiar?
Keep trying. Many of the advanced tricks are in this area of control.
